IJM Allianz Duo Highway Challenge 2025: Malaysia's Iconic Highway Run Returns, Now World Athletics-Certified!

Get ready to conquer the asphalt once again! The highly anticipated IJM Allianz Duo Highway Challenge is back for its seventh edition on August 3, 2025, continuing its legacy as Malaysia's only full highway marathon experience.

Building on the monumental success of last year, where the event was recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records for hosting the first full marathon across two fully closed highways, this year's challenge reaches new heights. The 2025 edition has achieved a significant milestone: it is now officially certified by World Athletics, in collaboration with the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). This prestigious certification confirms that the race course adheres to international standards for distance accuracy and race organization.

Under the inspiring theme "Highway Legend," the event celebrates the determination, resilience, and triumph of every participant, from first-timers to seasoned marathoners. You'll have the chance to run across the interconnected routes of IJM Corporation Berhad’s (IJM) NPE and BESRAYA highways, with a range of distances to choose from:

• 5km
• 10km
• 21.1km (Half Marathon)
• 42.195km (Full Marathon)

Growing Stronger Year After Year

Since its inception in 2017, the IJM Allianz Duo Highway Challenge has witnessed remarkable growth, attracting a diverse community of runners from Malaysia and beyond. The 2024 edition marked a significant achievement by securing two Malaysia Book of Records titles, highlighting its unique offering - First Full Marathon on a Highway and Longest Marathon Course on a Closed Highway. 

For the 2025 edition, organizers are aiming for over 12,000 participants, with an expected breakdown of 80% Malaysian runners and 20% international runners. With over 80% of race slots already snapped up, time is of the essence to secure your place in this landmark event.
