The Music Run Malaysia Turns 10: A Decade of Beats, Sweat & Celebration


Kuala Lumpur, 17 May 2025 – Asia’s most electrifying celebration of fitness and music, The Music Run, marked its 10th anniversary in Malaysia with a spectacular show of energy and excitement. Featuring its signature 5km “Sound Track” route amped up with speakers, the iconic fun-run drew over 15,000 enthusiastic participants to the Bukit Jalil National Stadium on May 17.


The 10th edition of the specially curated LIVE THE BEAT Festival show had The Music Run’s very own E-Squad – a dynamic crew of emcees and renowned DJs – leading the charge, keeping the crowd hyped from start to finish. The night culminated in a high-energy live concert showcasing some of Malaysia’s hottest music talents.


The concert kicked off with Alex Ungku (@alexungku), whose signature R&B style added a chill yet energetic vibe to the night, followed by Claudia Tan (@claudiaaatan), a homegrown singer-songwriter pop princess, who captivated the world with her distinct voice. The festival then escalated to a full-scale party with its headline act – Malaysia’s top DJ, DJ Blink (@blink_mys), playing infectious beats and top hits of the year. DJ Blink truly brought The Music Run’s defining vibe of “Run, Music, Party” to life.


Organised by Fresh Events Asia Sdn. Bhd., The Music Run has now held 40 events globally, including 28 in Asia, and has welcomed over 350,000 runners to its music-fuelled experience. Blending the excitement of a music festival with the power of movement, it brings together urban Gen Z and Millennial communities in a celebration of positive energy and an uplifting rush of dopamine. Over the past 10 years, The Music Run has built a huge, loyal fan base, with participants eagerly returning year after year. It is more than just a run where the event champions an active lifestyle in a safe, alcohol-free, and inclusive space for all.

The Music Run launched in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2014 and has expanded with events across multiple countries, including Singapore, Taiwan, China and others. The event will continue its international journey with upcoming events in Dubai and the Philippines, further empowering the communities to embrace running, music and an active lifestyle.
