Kebena-RUN 2025: Malaysia's Biggest Papa Zola Fan Gathering Hits Kuala Lumpur!

Kuala Lumpur, 7 December 2025 – The phenomenon of Kebenaran has officially landed in Kuala Lumpur! Today, in conjunction with the highly anticipated cinema release of Papa Zola The Movie across Malaysia and Brunei starting 11 December 2025, MONSTA and Astro Shaw successfully organized the Kebena-RUN 2025. This massive running event was a collaborative effort with the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) and KL Car Free Morning, and it has officially been crowned the LARGEST GATHERING OF PAPA ZOLA FANS IN MALAYSIA!

The Grand Launch and 'Filming' Location

The run served as a key promotional activity for the upcoming film. Today’s event marked the official launch of the Kebena-RUN right here in Kuala Lumpur—a significant location that actually served as the "filming" inspiration for the visual setting and the world of Papa Zola The Movie. Participants were literally running through the very city that helped inspire the story, making the experience deeply personal for the fans as they pursued the spirit of Kebenaran.

5KM Run for Fandom

Thousands of participants, consisting of enthusiastic local animation fans who attended alongside their families, gathered early in the morning to chase the feeling of Kebenaran. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the warm-up began promptly at 6:45 AM, followed by the grand flag-off at 7:00 AM. 

The starting ceremony was a true spectacle from the MONSTA Universe. The race was officially begun by the beloved mascots themselves: Papa Zola, Mama Zila, and Pipi Zola, joined by BoBoiBoy, a  popular character from the broader MONSTA Universe. These animated icons were accompanied by key VIPs, namely Nizam Abd Razak, the Director of Papa Zola The Movie and CEO of Monsta, and Mr. Naquib Bin Hamdan, Director of the Department of Culture, Arts, Tourism & Sports from DBKL.

A Colorful Cosplay Carnival

Adding to the electrifying atmosphere, many participants fully embraced the fun by arriving in colorful costumes themed after their favourite characters from the MONSTA Universe! This vibrant display turned the 5km route into a kind of cosplay carnival, successfully bringing the world of Papa Zola to life and giving fans an even closer and more interactive experience with the heroes they cherish, all while celebrating the spirit of Kebenaran.

Every single participant in the 5km run was celebrated as a true hero of Kebena-RUN. To commemorate their achievement, each runner received an exclusive package, which included a special Kebena-RUN jersey, a commemorative finisher medal, an iconic Papa Zola mask to celebrate the character, and various other exclusive Kebena-RUN merchandise. The event successfully merged fitness, overwhelming fandom, and family fun, setting the stage perfectly for the cinematic debut of Papa Zola the Movie on 11 December 2025!
