Kuala Lumpur, 8 July 2026 — Bursa Malaysia and The Edge are pleased to co-organise the Bursa Bull Charge × The Edge KL Rat Race 2026, a flagship, purpose-led corporate run that brings both organisations together on one shared platform for Malaysia’s capital market.
Reimagined with Persons with Disabilities (PWD) inclusion embedded at its core alongside a broader focus on education and financial literacy, the run advances Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) goals whilst supporting more inclusive workplaces.
Under the tagline “Run as One. Run for All”, Bull Charge × Rat Race 2026 is designed with accessibility and equitable participation built in from planning to race day. This includes accessible routes and facilities as well as opportunities for PWD participation alongside runners, volunteers and ambassadors. The event will also feature a one-mile dash category that brings C-Suite executives and PWD runners together in supporting solidarity and inclusion.
Bull Charge × Rat Race 2026 will take place as a night run on 28 November 2026, featuring a 5-kilometre route across key roads in Kuala Lumpur. The run will begin and end at Bursa Malaysia, passing through Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Ampang.
Dato’ Fad’l Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia, said, “Bursa Bull Charge has brought together over 12,000 runners and raised about RM18 million for more than 170 charities, demonstrating the collective power of the capital market to create impact that extends beyond the finish line.”
“As Bursa Malaysia marks its 50th anniversary, we aspire to go further this year by encouraging the widest-ever participation across Corporate Malaysia through this collaboration with The Edge. We believe that Bursa Bull Charge × The Edge KL Rat Race 2026 will be a powerful expression of what can be achieved when people come together behind a shared purpose, helping to build a future where every Malaysian has the opportunity to participate, contribute and succeed,” he added.
The run is part of Bursa Malaysia’s broader initiative to advance inclusive employment for PWD as a core DEI priority. This includes the development of Malaysia’s Inclusive Employment (MINE) Playbook with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to equip organisations with practical tools and frameworks to design more inclusive workplaces, talent systems and governance practices.
Dato’ Ho Kay Tat, Publisher and Group Chief Executive Officer of The Edge Media Group, said, “Since the first Rat Race in 2000, millions have raised for charity and benefitted many NGOs working with PWD. For the last 10-plus years, through The Edge Education Foundation, we have focused on access to better opportunities for the less fortunate and PWD, through both education and training.”
From 2016, The Edge Education Foundation has focused on the crucial need for financial education for the young in order to teach them the importance of saving, how to manage money wisely, budget, and how to avoid debt traps and scams. The foundation currently works with partners in the corporate and philanthropic sectors as well as teachers to run its financial literacy programme called ‘Money & Me: Youth Financial Empowerment Programme’ in schools throughout the country.
“Increasing the level of financial literacy among individuals will contribute towards financial inclusion,” Datuk Ho added.
Bull Charge × Rat Race 2026 aligns with Malaysia’s aspiration to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy, with PWD inclusion identified as one of Majlis SDG Negara’s 10 national priority areas. It also reflects the Capital Market Masterplan 2026–2030’s emphasis on a more inclusive capital market for all Malaysians and the mobilisation of capital and collaboration to support national sustainability goals.
Companies are invited to participate by registering teams of runners. Various sponsorship packages are also available. Proceeds from the event will support beneficiaries delivering high-impact programmes for PWD communities and expanding access to education and financial literacy.
Registration is now open at www.bullchargeratrace.com and closes on 5 November 2026.
