The massive energy of our local running community reached a fever pitch as the MILO® Malaysia Breakfast Day (MBD) 2026 wrapped up its nationwide tour. Here at runwitme, we love seeing the Malaysian running scene thrive, and this year's turnout proved that our collective momentum is stronger than ever.
Rallying a grand total of 75,000 participants across six states, the event showed that nothing brings us together quite like the perfect combination of an early morning run and a cold, refreshing cup of MILO® from the iconic green truck. From East Malaysia to the east coast, the campaign successfully transformed standard weekends into massive celebrations of fitness, multi-generational family bonding, and proper sports nutrition.
Sabah: A Sold-Out Dawn Kick-Off in Kota Kinabalu
The nationwide journey kicked off in spectacular fashion on 24 May 2026 at Padang Merdeka in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Drawing a fully sold-out crowd of approximately 9,000 eager runners, the opening stop set a remarkably high bar for the rest of the tour. Participants gathered well before dawn for a lively 3km fun run that underscored the brand's long-standing grassroots support for community sports development and youth advancement in East Malaysia.
Terengganu: Running with Culture at the Iconic Drawbridge
Moving across the South China Sea, the second stop brought a vibrant morning to the east coast on 6 June 2026 at the iconic Drawbridge in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. Attracting roughly 10,000 runners, this leg featured a beautiful blend of active living and local heritage. In partnership with Temasya Budaya Terengganu, many participants ran along the scenic bridge wearing local cultural accessories, adding a unique, highly aesthetic flair to the 3km route.
Sarawak: Celebrating Unity and Nutrition in Kuching
For its third stop on 14 June 2026, the movement returned to East Malaysia, landing at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) grounds in Sarawak, where another 10,000 participants turned up to show their running spirit. The Sarawak edition highlighted inclusive diversity, bringing together various ethnic communities to celebrate a shared commitment to healthy morning routines. Beyond the 3km run, families engaged with interactive educational zones that brought Nestlé's "Suku-Suku Separuh" healthy plate concept to life.
Pahang: Inspiring Healthy Families Over Father's Day Weekend
The momentum continued straight into the fourth stop on 21 June 2026 at Padang MBK 1 in Kuantan, Pahang, coinciding perfectly with the Father’s Day weekend. Another massive crowd of 10,000 runners took over the field, with a strong focus on fathers leading by example as healthy lifestyle role models to reduce sedentary screen time. This leg focused heavily on multi-generational participation, seeing dads, kids, and even grandparents tackling the physical challenges side by side.
Kelantan: Empowering the Next Generation at USM Health Campus
Making its fifth stop on 27 June 2026 at the Universiti Sains Malaysia Health Campus field in Kelantan, the event strategically targeted the youth and educator demographic. Attracting 10,000 participants, this stop pushed the cumulative nationwide total to 49,000 runners just before the big finish. Choosing a university setting allowed the movement to inspire younger adults to establish active routines that carry forward into their independent future lives.
Putrajaya: The Grand Finale Spectacular at Dataran Putrajaya
The epic campaign culminated in a spectacular Grand Finale on 12 July 2026 at Dataran Putrajaya, drawing a massive peak crowd of approximately 25,000 participant who filled the streets and square in a powerful show of unity. The grand finale served as the ultimate celebration of the entire 75,000-strong nationwide movement, bringing out families alongside government and corporate leaders to tackle both the 3km team run and the signature 5km individual category. Seeing so many generations hit the pavement together to celebrate active lifestyles was pure inspiration, proving that early mornings are always better when sports, community, and nutrition collide.
