adidas Originals Celebrates Superstar: The Original at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur Pop-Up


Kuala Lumpur, 29 August 2025 – Created for basketball, adopted by the pioneers of streetwear, and reimagined by every generation since, the Superstar is the original icon that journeyed from sport to culture. Following the launch of “The Original” campaign earlier this year, the brand with Three Stripes now unveils the next chapter of its global platform, celebrating the trailblazing influence of the Superstar.


The global campaign features a multi-generational lineup of original voices from legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson, multi-award-winning songwriter and producer Missy Elliott, and skateboarding icon Mark Gonzales, to NBA sensation Anthony Edwards, Memphis multi-platinum powerhouse GloRilla, American singer-songwriter Teezo Touchdown, global music icon JENNIE, and boundary-pushing model and actress Gabriette.

Discover the legacy of the Superstar with the adidas Originals Superstar Pop-up, running from 27 August to 1 September 2025 at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur’s Centre Court. This immersive event not only brings the global FW25 Superstar campaign to Malaysia but also shines a spotlight on the nation’s creative scene, led by the newly announced partner and local icon, Joe Flizzow.


In Malaysia, the Superstar’s story is being redefined by homegrown talents. A true pioneer, Joe Flizzow is widely recognized as the godfather of Malaysian hip hop. This exciting partnership between adidas Originals and Joe Flizzow marks a new era for both the brand and Malaysian street culture. Joe’s values of boldness, embracing self-expression, demonstrating resilience, and staying committed to his community perfectly aligns with the adidas Originals DNA.

Experience the Superstar, up close, at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur pop-up, showcasing collaboration with a line-up of local artists including Ismail Izzani, DOLLA, Lil J, Julia Duclos, Elva Suyan, and Aziz Harun, who will bring the Superstar ethos to life through live performances and interactive sessions.


Visitors can look forward to exciting activities such as the Superstar Soundbooth, an immersive audio experience featuring curated tracks from campaign artists, along with fun games like basketball shootout and Dance Dance Revolution and more.


Customers who purchase a Superstar shoe, priced at RM569 or a Firebird Track Top and Track Pants, retailing from RM429 and RM399, at participating adidas stores — including Pavilion KL, The Exchange TRX, and more — can also enjoy a complimentary coffee at the Superstar Café and receive a special customization kit (while stocks lasts), featuring accessories to personalize their Superstar shoes or Firebird pieces on the spot, creating a look that’s uniquely theirs.
