Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon Launches Improved Route Aimed at Enhancing Athlete Experience

Singapore, 2 August 2019 – Today, organisers of the 2019 Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) unveiled Singapore’s first evening race routes. The improved routes are built on runner feedback and are intended to deliver a balance of race difficulty set against Singapore’s iconic skyline. The three-day event from 29 November - 1 December will feature a Kids Dash on Friday evening, Marathon and Half Marathon on Saturday evening and conclude with 5km and 10km categories on Sunday morning.

Singapore, 28 May 2019 – At a launch event today, the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM) announced that the 2019 edition of the race will upgrade the athlete experience with a new 6:00pm evening flag off on Saturday 30 November for the Marathon, Half Marathon and Ekiden distances while shifting to a three-day event format. 

Justice For Evelyn Ang Gek Suan

The 2017 Klang International Marathon saw an incident that has changed many lives forever. Teoh Thiam Lim, 28, who is currently being charged under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, drove into three people. The final result of his reckless driving was two injured and one dead. Evelyn Ang Gek Suan died two months later, after not being able to pull out of a coma due to the result of the incident. This death has left family and friends shattered. There is still no closure as yet, as the outcome of the case against Mr. Lim is yet to be determined.
