Photos: Maher Zain ماهر زين @ Malam Amal Setulus Kaseh, Summit Hotel

Prince of Islamic Pop, Maher Zain is back to Malaysia, for a three-night charity dinner show, which was kick off on Sunday.

This fler sure has a lot of fans in Malaysia....Check out the below pic. Diners left their tables to squat in from of the stage to get closer to Maher Zain.

Thank God my lens is long enough to allow me to do my shooting discreetly from afar. It would be impossible to wade through all those "squatters". LOL!

Organised by Yayasan Kemanusiaan Muslim Aid Malaysia (YKMAM), Innovative Management Consultancy (IMC), Alumni ESQ and Rumah Titian Kasih (RTK), the show is a fund-raiser for Rumah Titian Kasih, a shelter home in Titiwangsa.

The proceeds from the charity show would be used to purchase a plot of land for RTK to build a permanent home. RTK is currently renting a house which is home to some 80 residents, aged between 2 months and 75 years old. Recently, the owner of the house had requested RTK to vacate the premises.

Maher Zain stepped on the stage around 10:20pm. Before that there were performances from the kids from RTK and two Nasyid groups - Rabbani and one other which I don't remember the name.

The chosen one....:)

I am sure he sent many admirer hearts in the audience aflutter when he dished out the sweet love song For The Rest of My Life.

Tickets for his last night for Setulus Kaseh Charity Dinner show (28 Dec) is still available. Details HERE.

Kita minum dulu...

He didn't have much to say between the song, keeping interaction between songs with the audience to a minimum. It was expected as it was not a rah rah rock concert! :)

He ended the show with his huge hit called Insha Allah and of course the crowd sang along with him.

His music is sweet, catchy and contemporary making it accessible to everyone across boundaries. I personally like some of the tracks in his debut album, Thank You Allah.

If you find Maher Zain and his music lip-smacking good....

...you must check him out when he is back for a full blown concert at Istana Budaya, 8-10 April 2011.

LATEST UPDATE: Maher Zain will be in Malaysia for his first ever concert here on25-26 February 2011.

Photos: Konsert Gemuruh DT Search - Wings @ Sunway Lagoon

I wasn't a rocker and I am still not. But I listen to all sort of music. It was a nostalgic trip back to the old time during the medley section. In fact, I still remember most the words to Meniti Titian Usang, Taman Rasyidah Utama, Misteri Mimpi Syakila which were used to be on heavy rotation in my cassette walkman during my school days.

Now, the cassettes are long gone but these two rock giants are still rocking and kicking!

The Konsert Gemuruh DT - Search & Wings at Sunway Lagoon is the final leg for the concert in 2010. The crowd was crazy...and too crazy at times.

The vocals from Awie and Amy are amazing; still soar above all.

Awie brandishing the mic stand like a weapon ready to rock Sunway Lagoon.

Apa hal? Cu citer..cu citer... LOL! *Catch phrase from Hantu Kak Limah Balik Rumah.

Nodoby rocks like amy Search!

Can you believe this dude is 52? :)

Awie and Joe, one of the best guitarist in Malaysia.

Awie cooling down.

Cute eh? Just like a baby. LOL!

Best rocking friends.

Awie is very playful. Look at him lifting up Amy effortlessly!

Oops! Is that a new Kamasutra position? LOL!

It was a helluva concert! The last of Konsert Gemuruh DT in the year 2010!

Wings and Search will be touring to Sarawak and Singapore next year. When asked about the most challenging thing in the concert, Awie responded - the money. But thank to DiGi, we get to see these two rock legend in action again! (Insert applause here)

Something to look forward to in 2011, Wings will be rocking at Istana Budaya 29 April while Search will be busy planning for their 30th anniversary in showbiz bash. (Insert excited squeal here)

Commotion at Konsert Gemuruh DT: Search - Wings @ Sunway Lagoon

Before I post the pics from the Konsert Gemuruh DT, I would like to share with you some UGLY behaviours of some concertgoers that I have witness with my own eyes.

First incident happened when the gates were opened around around 7:20pm on 25 Dec 2010.

There was a scuffle between the security personnel with the some punks. There was some shouting. Thank God nobody got hurt.

I don't know what is it with these concertgoers troublemakers. Why can't they just line up properly and go through security check like anyone else?

We all just want a good time.

Later, the troublemakers were allowed in with just a slap on the wrist. Personally, those flers should be banned from concert for life! Hooliganism is not acceptable in our society!

Next incident happened inside the concert venue.

A few giants DiGi balls were released to the crowd. It was meant to be pushed around on top of concertgoers for fun.

Some of the monkeys, yup I called them monkeys based on the Malay idiom - Macam kera dapat bunga. Translated: like monkey is given flower. Not only it doesn't appreciate the gift, it will only destroy the flower.

This is exactly what happened to one of the balls.

The monkeys got their dirty hands on it and clawed the air out of the ball.

...and the sad thing is that they celebrated it as if it was a triumph! Bloody vandals!

Just made my blood boil! I have seen similar balls at other concerts but they were bounced around with glee. Not destroyed by monkeys!

It baffles me why they do such a thing. Is it the level of education? Where does the appetite for destruction come from? Where are the mindfulness? Where is the respect for others?

I'd love to hear your comments.

Celebrunner: Rina Omar @ "Rock The World 10" Music Festival

Oh! Babi!

Rina Omar "melatah" (sorry can't find an equivalent meaning in English for this) when she lost her balance doing the running pose. We actually approached her for the pose after the concert went for a break for Asar prayer. When she was actually still on stage.

Realizing that the mic was not turned off yet, she apologized profusely to the people that were still around in front of the Indie Stage that she didn't mean to call them babi (pigs). LOL!

Thanks for the pose, Rina! Love the enthusiasm. :)

Rina was the emcee for the Indie Stage at the Rock The World 10 Music Festival.

We were really spoilt for choice because there were 34 bands performing in 2 different stages - The Main Stage & The Indie Stage at the Rock The World Music Festival.

Concert started at noon but we only reached Bukit Jalil Carpark around 2 something. Woke up late abit because was bushed after Konsert Gemuruh DT yesterday night (Hot photos of Search & Wings coming soon!)

The band An Honest Mistake was playing when we arrived.

They were rocking alright until the lead singer decided to be Spiderman and climbed up the stage scaffolding...

It is not an honest mistake but rather a stupid one if you ask me. The organiser decided to pull all plugs until he came down. The music stopped. Boo hoo!

Hey boy, please love life. Don't attempt any stunt like that again without safety precaution. We want you to keep rocking like this uncle below.. :)

The Main Stage of Rock The World 10 boasted 19 bands comprising the best acts that had been featured throughout the whole 10 years of Rock The World. They were among others, Pop Shuvit.....

...Dragon Red.

and Bunkface.

We had to run alternately from the Main Stage to the Indie Stage to really capture the essence of whole festival. The Indie Stage is added on the side of The Main Stage as a bonus, thanks to Tune Talk.

Crowd surfing is a popular "sport" at the Rock The World 10.

Everybody wanted to do it...

...including the fler from Pop Shuvit. He didn't get very far. We think it's time for him to loose some of them weight. LOL!

Hear her sing....(Pssst..The expression on the man's face is priceless. LOL!)

Tune Talk Mobile Prepaid subscribers enjoyed a lot of free stuff at the event - including access to carnival games, win top ups, passes to meet and greet the bands at Tune Talk's booths, free popcorn, chance to win a Rock The World 10 autographed guitar and complimentary downloads of songs performed at the event! Cool eh?

The price of the festival tickets are dirt-cheap! RM30 for almost 11 hours of live music on two stages!

Phew....Our ears almost bled from the sonic assault but we really had fun at the festival. Rawk!!!!

We really wanted to stay late at the concert but we decided to make a move out of that area before the football crowd for Malaysia vs Indonesia final for Suzuki Cup swarm the street. LOL! Congrats to Malaysia for trashing Indon 3-0! Woo hoo!

We can't wait for Rock The World 11 in 2011! We certainly do not need foreign rock bands for a rocking time! Support of local boys and girls in music!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ROCK THE WORLD 10!
