While I was browsing the Net for some roadraces just now, I came across this fun challenge - a roadrace involving 12 pieces of the yummy sugarglazed Krispy Kreme doughnut!
The Krispy Kreme Challenge is an annual charity event at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C. All profits are donated to the North Carolina Children's Hospital.
To complete the Krispy Kreme Challenge, participants start at the iconic NC State Belltower on Hillsborough Street, run two miles (about 3.2 km) to the Krispy Kreme store of Raleigh, eat one dozen doughnuts (totaling 2,400 calories and 144 grams of fat), and run back to the Belltower, all under 1 hour.
The runners have to show the officials the empty box before they are allowed to run back.
Interesting? I particularly love the "eat one dozen doughnuts" part! LOL!
This year it will be held on 5 February.... The response is overwhelming and the registration already closed once a target of 7,500 runners is reached. Whoa....That is equivalent of 90,000 Krispy Kreme Doughnuts!!!!! That's alotta doughnuts!
The race is not easy as it seems. I read there were runner who puked doughnut back on the road. LOL!
It would be interesting to have such food and run challenge in Malaysia. What do you think is best to replace Krispy Kreme Doughnut? Nasi Lemak 50sen? Curry puff? Roti canai? Char kuay teow? Putu Mayam?
Hahah! I'm salivating already.....I have a sudden crave for doughnut now.
Should I run to Sunway Pyramid and grab me a dozen of doughtnut and then run back to my house? LOL!
